On Tuesday-Wednesday, February 4-5, 2020, D4 Archives and Records Management Study Program and D3 Archival Study Program of Department of Languages, Arts, and Culture Management (DBSMB) Vocational College UGM held a workshop about archival management with Dr. Maaike Derksen from Katholiek Documentatie Centrum (KDC) Radboud University Nijmegen Belanda as the interviewees.
The event was attended by 30 participants from various institutes such as the Ministry of Education and Culture, PT KAI, Ministry of Manpower, Ministry of Law and Rights, Indonesian Chinese Association, BKN, Politeknik Negeri Malang, Universitas Brawijaya, BLK Surakarta, Akademi Sekretari Budi Luhur, PT Tata Solusi, IVAA, Archives of UGM, also students and alumnae of UGM.
On the first day, Maaike Derksen explained the “Sharing & Conserving Shared Documentary Heritage in a Digital Age” which related to the conservation and preservation of heritage building, culture, food, language which has Dutch influence in Indonesia.
On the next day, Maaike Derksen explained “How to Build a Records Center?” which was a form of responsibility from the D4 Archives and Records Management Study Program and D3 Archival Study Program to support the plan of Records Center making in the faculty.
Maaike highlighted the existence of policy as the basis of Records Center making, location, and kinds of archive that will be managed, and also the facility. Workshop participants were divided into several groups to discuss how archive storage in the digital era.
