2 students of English Study Program, Vocational College UGM, Nourmalyta Khoirunnisa’ and Andrea Timuriana Suci Putri Domargo joined Changwon National University International Summer Camp 2019 for 3 weeks from July 8th-28th, 2019. CWNU International Summer Camp 2019 is the first yearly program which was held by Changwon National University. Changwon National University is one of top tier universities in South Korea so as to be able to establish cooperation with other countries, such as the universities in USA, Italy, Russia, New Zealand, China, Taiwan, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Each country sent their 4 delegations.
The theme of the program was culture with some activities such as learning Korean language, learning to make South Korean traditional craft, and field trip to several tourism destinations in Busan. Besides, there was a team project in which each team consisted of the students from several countries. The results of the team project were presented in the form of performance and presentation.
According to Nourmalyta, there were a lot of positive lessons from the activities, such as increasing sense of tolerance with contrasting differences, increasing confidence to express opinions, and increasing the ability to work in a team. She also added that this program is very interesting and to participate in this program participants only have to pay for plane tickets and pocket money.
